The Baltimore Ravens continue to add talent at wide receiver. On Thursday, the team announced that they had signed former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Devin Gray.

According to Ian Rapport, it is a one-year deal, pending a physical.

The move comes after ESPN’s Kimberley A. Martin reported that the Ravens are one of the teams no longer in the market for Gray’s former teammate, wide receiver Julio Jones.

There is not much NFL film on Gray. An undrafted rookie out of Cincinnati, Gray spent his three seasons with Atlanta almost exclusively Womens Devin Gray Jersey, on the team’s practice squad as well as a few stints in the preseason.

He was elevated to the active roster for a Week 17 matchup during the 2020 season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, he did not play.

What are the Ravens getting in Devin Gray?
Most of Gray’s playing time came when he was a member of the Cincinnati Bearcats during 2016 and 2017. In two seasons with the Bearcats, the versatile receiver had 86 receptions for 1,304 yards and eight touchdowns.

The Ravens have been criticized the past few seasons for not being a passing team. Baltimore has now added seven wide receivers during the offseason to help change that narrative.

Like Gray, the Ravens signed former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins and former Indianapolis Colts receiver Deon Cain in free agency

They also drafted Rashod Bateman and Tylan Wallace in the 2021 NFL Draft, added former undrafted free agent Binjimen Victor, and 2021 undrafted rookie Donte Sylencieux — although the latter has since been placed on the injured reserve.

While Gray is looking to make an impact, the Ravens’ top two receivers on the depth chart can be considered set in stone.

Marquise Brown should continue to be Baltimore’s No. 1 receiver while the newly-added Watkins finds himself as the de facto No. 2.

Rashod Bateman should comfortably slide in as the No. 3 and round out the starting trio.

Behind them, things get a little tricky. Miles Boykin has not lived up to expectations since coming into the league. Devin Duvernay and James Proche have found the most success on special teams.

Nothing is certain, and this is a fresh start for Devin Gray who will be looking to carve out a role for himself on the roster.

If we’ve learned anything about the Ravens over the years, it’s that the organization will give any player who walks into the Under Armour Performance Center a chance to compete for a role on the team.
