Former Detroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson met with the media of his new team, the Philadelphia Eagles, on Tuesday, and he explained how stressful last week was to him. A former second-round pick by Detroit, Johnson was waived by the Lions on Thursday is a somewhat unexpected move. The announcement appeared to catch Johnson off-guard.
“It was a little weird,” Johnson said. “I’ve seen it happen to others but never personally experienced it. So going through it one time, Nike Kerryon Johnson Jersey, it was kind of scary. Major kudos to people who have been through it multiple times or still going through it to this day.”
Luckily for Johnson, he only had to go 24 hours of uncertainty. After being placed on waivers from the Lions, the Eagles put in a claim for him and suddenly he was employed again.
“The Eagles, they saw something in me, and I appreciate them for seeing that and I’m ready to give this organization 100 percent,” Johnson said.
In Philly, Johnson will have the company of plenty of former Lions players. Wide receiver Travis Fulgham, running back Jason Huntley, Red Kerryon Johnson Jersey, punter Arryn Siposs, safety Andrew Adams, and cornerback Darius Slay all shared time with Johnson in Detroit before landing with the Eagles.
“I know a few, which is nice to have a few familiar faces,” Kerryon said. “Have a few faces that you can ask questions to.”
As for the Lions, no statement has been made yet of the Johnson release. The team will push forward with D’Andre Swift and Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic, Jamaal Williams as their one-two punch in the backfield. The rest of the depth chart will be decided upon in the upcoming months as rookies Jermar Jefferson, Rakeem Boyd, and Dedrick Mills.
